The Finix Journey

Finix Ventures Ltd was founded on 28th April 2022 by Maxwel Kimathi and his sister Joy Wandia Kimathi. What began as an idea soon grew into a purpose-driven company inspired by family, heritage, and a lifelong love for wildlife.

The roots of Finix Adventures & Safaris trace back to their childhood, shaped by countless visits to wildlife conservancies across Kenya with their late father, Albert Kimathi, and their mother, Catherine Wangui Kimathi.

Many weekends were spent at the iconic Mokoyeti Picnic Site inside Nairobi National Park — enjoying family cookouts, spotting wildlife, and creating timeless memories. These moments deeply influenced Maxwel’s understanding of the park and nurtured a natural passion for guiding and storytelling.

During his college years, Maxwel became a part-time tour guide, gaining hands-on experience while developing valuable skills in web design, graphic design, sales, marketing, and branding through other business ventures. These skills later became the foundation for establishing Finix Adventures & Safaris.

Joy Wandia Kimathi, a director at Polished Planners Ltd — an events and itinerary planning company — brought in strong expertise in planning, coordination, and customer experience. Together, the siblings combined their strengths to curate meaningful, well-planned, and memorable travel experiences for their clients.
